After Andy Burnham became prime minister without a general election, Nigel Farage called for an immediate election, arguing that Burnham had entered Downing Street without a public mandate. Farage said: “The British people voted for Keir Starmer, not Andy Burnham. Make no mistake, this is a coup, plain and simple.”
